Day 538 -- Palisade

Ten miles southwest of Carlin is the Nevada ghost town of Palisade. "The settlement along the Humboldt River was named for the sheer rock walls to the east. The palisade, in turn, was named for a similar formation on the Hudson River in New York." I'm standing on the remains of the steps of the courthouse.

Yesterday's run was late afternoon, because the gym didn't open until 3. This morning's run was first thing in the morning, the only time I have in the weekday. So it was only about 12 hours after the end of yesterday's run. Ugh. I made the four miles, though. A small victory, but a victory.
