Here are the official rules for the Freakishly Flexible 5K, which I have taken to calling the FFFK.
Date: Feb. 14, 2009 (or some time this week, or early next)
Distance: 5K (or 10K or 5 miles or 10 miles or 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles or 1K or 100 meters or pretty much whatever you want)
Divisions: Runner, walker, biker, swimmer, stair-stepper, etc.
[You thought "Freakishly Flexible" referred to Non-Runner Nancy's hips, but it actually refers to the rules.]
Early registration ends Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or maybe a week from Thursday. Late registrants will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. Early registrants won't, either. There will be virtual medals for all finishers.
The Chic Runner has volunteered to be the official time keeper. Results will be posted over there. You can e-mail her at danicakoo |at| gmail |dot| com. Or you can post your results here, and I will pass them on.

Can you add me to the list? Great cause!
I am so in! Glad I found the official race site :-)
I'm in!! Ya'll are going to be SO JEALOUS of where my 5k (or 10k or 5 mile or 10 mile) race is going to be held. ;)
I am in as well!!
I'm in. I'm registered for a 5K that day so I'm going to dedicate it to our freakishly flexible friend!
I'm freakishly flexible and a long time Nancy fan. I can either row 5k (more like 10k) on Friday or walk 5k (again more like 10k) on Sunday. In fact, I'm going to do both, but this time I'm doing them for Nancy! Oddly enough, I'll probably run 5K on Saturday.
I'm in
I'm late to the party but I'll run in honor of Nancy. What an awesome thing you have done for her.
LOVE your run across the US idea. Brilliant.
In honor of Nancy I did the FFFK tonight (since tomorrow doesn't fit in so well and I can't run on the 14th). I managed the 5k in 24:34, with the Garmin proof found here or my blog. I hope Nancy gets better soon, and thanks for compiling the results along with Chic Runner!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Dude,I didn't know I had to register. D'oh.
Still I got a little 5K in for Nancy.(And I ... um.. stole your logo.)
So it's OK to post my results here? I did a 5K today in 24:35. Thanks for doing this!
Here's 2.8 miles for today's FFFK from the Granite State. Nancy, I can't wait to see what sport you DON'T take up after running!! ;)
Yep add me to the list. I'll run for you on Tuesday Nancy! Take care my friend.
FFFK Results: 25:21 (of thereabouts - I did it as part of a 14 miler).
Great idea!
Oops, I forgot to pre-register. Or post-register. But I ran today and wrote about it!
I'll send my results and post to The Chic Runner.
Coming to the party a bit late, but still wanting to participate if possible! While not freakishly flexible myself, as a non-runner learning to run I've had my fair share of physical challenges as well.
Back home and posting my results 38:18. Seems slow but I just had knee surgery (ACL and meniscus) 3 months ago.
I am a bit late, but I am in...I'll be running 5k tomorrow...better late than never, right?
Impressed :)
